US EagleMany conspiracy theories have emerged whichcontradict the mainstream account of theSeptember 11, 2001 attacks. Many 9/11 conspiracy theorists identify as part of the "9/11 Truth Movement," and their claims typically include suggestions that individuals in the government of the United States knew of the impending attacks and refused to act on that knowledge, or that the attacks were a false flag operation carried out with the intention of stirring up the passions and winning the allegiance of the American people in order to facilitate mili tary spending, garner support for Israeli policies towards the Palestinians, the restriction of civil liberties, and/or a program of aggressive and profitable foreign policy.

Most members of the 9/11 Truth Movement claim that the collapse of the World Trade Center was the result of a controlled demolition and/or that United Airlines Flight 93 was shot down. Some also contend that a commercial airliner did not crash into the Pentagon; this position is debated within the 9/11 Truth Movement, with many who believe that AA Flight 77 did crash there, but that it was allowed to crash via an effective stand down of the military.[1]

Published reports by the National Institute of Standards and Technology do not support the controlled demolition hypothesis.[2][3] U.S. officials, mainstream journalists and independent researchers[4]generally accepted the conclusion that Al Qaeda is solely responsible for the attacks and the resulting destruction, and civil engineers generally accept the mainstream account that the impacts of jets at high speeds in combination with subsequent fires, rather than controlled demolition, led to the collapse of the Twin Towers.[5

The Moon

Apollo Moon Landing hoax accusations are claims that some or all elements of the Apollo Moon landings were faked by NASA and possibly members of other involved organizations. Some groups and individuals have advanced various theories which tend, to varying degrees, to include the following common elements:

Many commentators have published detailed rebuttals to the hoax claims. A 1999 poll by the The Gallup Organization found the "overwhelming majority" of the US public, some 89 percent, did not believe the landing was staged or faked, while 6 percent did and 5 percent were undecided.[1][2

Planet X

In astronomy, Planet X is a large hypothetical planet beyond Neptune. It was postulated to explain apparent discrepancies in the orbits of the gas giants, especially those of Uranus and Neptune. Those discrepancies have largely been resolved by measurements in the 1980s and today no significant portion of the scientific community believes it exists.

The "X" in the name represents an unknown and is pronounced as the letter, as opposed to the Roman numeral for ten. At the time of its conception there were eight known planets in the solar system; its existence, first as a ninth planet, and then from 1930 until its demise as a tenth. Although Pluto was discovered as a result of the search for Planet X, it is not considered Planet X. Neither is Eris, even though it was at one point considered for reclassification as a planet under a proposal outlined by the International Astronomical Union (see 2006 redefinition of planet).

In popular culture, "Planet X" has become a stand-in term for an undiscovered planet in the solar system.

Astrology - Secret in the Stars

Is a name that refers to several groups, both real and fictitious. Historically, it refers specifically to the Bavarian Illuminati, an Enlightenment era secret society founded in the late eighteenth century. However, in modern times it refers to a purported conspiratorial organization which acts as a shadowy power behind the throne, allegedly controlling world affairs through present day governments and corporations, usually as a modern incarnation or continuation of the Bavarian Illuminati. In this context, Illuminati is often used in reference to a New World Order (NWO). Many conspiracy theorists believe the Illuminati, or the "Illuminated ones", are the masterminds behind events that will lead to the establishment of such a New World Order. Confusing the issue further is the fact that there are also several modern fraternal groups which include the word "Illuminati" in their names.

In rarer cases, the Illuminati refers to an elite set of enlightened individuals who may not cooperate but are uniquely empowered by their enlightenment, much like the intelligentsia classes of today are empowered by their education and intelligence. These are people who have become illuminated and have achieved a higher mystical understanding of the universe. Many secret societies and mystical traditions are concerned with this kind of illumination or enlightenment, such as the Rosicrucian Societies, the Martinists and the original Bavarian Illuminati.[1]

ufoAn unidentified flying object, or UFO, is any real or apparent flying object which cannot be identified by the observer and which remains unidentified after investigation. The term flying saucer is also sometimes used, although the two terms are not genuinely interchangeable.

Reports of unusual aerial phenomena date back to ancient times (see Ancient astronaut theories), but modern reports and first official investigations began during World War II with sightings of so-called foo fighters by Allied airplane crews and in 1946 with widespread sightings of European ghost rockets. UFO reports became even more common after the first widely publicized United States sighting in 1947. Many tens of thousands of UFO reports have since been made worldwide. [1] Many sightings may remain unreported due to fear of public ridicule because of the social stigma surrounding the subject of UFOs and because most nations lack any officially sanctioned authority to receive and evaluate UFO reports.

Once a UFO is identified as a known object (for example an aircraft or weather balloon), it ceases to be classified as a UFO and is reclassified as an identified object.
